Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Birth Certificate to go to Mexico? Youth, under age of 18, require a certified birth certificate and photo id and parental consent form. Those over 18 require a passport or passport card or enhanced id.
What are the requirements and commitments needed to go to Mexico? The Mission Application section will deal more fully with this subject. In general, the trip is open to committed members of our church family within the age requirements.
Do I need any special shots to go to Mexico? No shots are required for the Mexico Mission trip. However, it is recommended that all normal health shots be up to date and that your most recent Tetanus shot/booster be no more than two years ago.
What is the Dress Code while we are in Mexico? Some guidelines are shown in the packing list. Our goals are modesty and harmony with the culture. Rather than “sticking out” and pleasing ourselves the mission team’s desires are to blend in and to please the Lord. What kind of electronics and luxuries can I bring to Mexico? Part of this mission experience is to be fully committed and fully focused on the Lord. In order to keep our minds and hearts focused upward (Colossians 3:1-3) we ask that all cell phones, CD players, etc. be left behind. Trip leaders will have cell phone access in order to communicate arrival times or emergency messages. Those loved ones at home will also have emergency numbers they can call if needed.
